![]() ![]() Then, on the day of the lesson, it was going to be dangerously cold, so cold in fact that every mountain but Stowe never opened and Stowe never opened any lifts to the top of the mountain, closed all mid mountain lifts a few hours later and then closed the entire mountain at around 2 pm (an hour into the scheduled lesson). I scheduled a private lesson for my husband to learn to ski from 1-4pm. We had a great experience as a family here. Overall, I would not hesitate to come back to Stowe. And the bathrooms smelled terrible in that lodge. The Spruce Lodge is very nice, but the Mansfield Lodge is old and outdated. They were exhausted at that point (and that happened to be the day the Gondola closed right when we got there!)Īlso, the Mansfield Lodge needs some updating. And from Sunrise or Four Runner Quad to the Gondola, our kids had to walk at least 5-10minutes. I saw a lot of people getting stuck going to Sunrise lift from any directions. For a snowboarder (and the little kids on skis) it was a bit frustrating. The only complaints about the mountain was that there were a lot of flat areas. Even later when I had to stop by guest service for a question, she went above and beyond to help me. The one day I had to get a code for free parking (because we had 4 people in the car), the parking attendant stayed with me to make sure I entered everything in correctly. I asked one lady at the ticket counter and she was not helpful, but other employees offered as much info as they could. ![]() One day, most lifts were closed due to wind. But the lift operators, scanners were very nice. Maybe the Gondola twice took us about 10minutes to get on. Because we avoided weekends, we also avoided any terrible lines. Conditions were awesome! Views from the Gondola and Four Runner Quad were excellent on a sunny day. Most recently, VHB supported the development of The Stowe Mountain Lodge Wedding Venue and The Village at Spruce Peak Entry Gateway Study. My family and I came here right after Stowe had a season record high snowfall. The Over Easy Gondola, located at the head of the Village, provides a direct skier connection to the Mount Mansfield lifts and trails over a scenic highway of statewide significance. A village green and ice rink, which form the heart of the village, were constructed over a 200-car parking structure to make efficient use of valuable real estate. A premiere location for a residential development, Spruce Peak’s homes offer both pedestrian street access and desirable snow fronts with ski-in-ski-out access. Since 2003, our planning and design professionals have helped shape Stowe Mountain Resort by supporting the vision, master planning, and detailed design of the transformational $400-million Spruce Peak at the base of Stowe. Members of VHB have been involved in the planning, design, and creation of Spruce Peak Realty’s luxury development, the Village Plaza, and the resort’s most desirable amenities. Creating a comfortable, upscale, four-season community within a tough, mountainous terrain is no easy task. As one of New England’s premier winter resorts, Stowe Mountain has become a first-rate vacation spot for skiers and snowboarders, but it also offers year-round activities including rock climbing, ice skating, zip-lining, and entertainment at the Performing Arts Center.
